Detailed itinerary.

Day 1: Arrival at the airport and transfer to Tarangire National Park

Pick up from Arusha by your safari driver for briefing and immediately head to the nearest hotel for breakfast. Later embark on your journey to Tarangire National park, located in the Northern part of Tanzania just south of Lake Manyara National park.

It will take about 1 hour and 30 minutes from Arusha to Tarangire National Park. Proceed and check in at your booked lodge.

Day 2: Full day game drive – Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National park is believed to be the second largest National park after Serengeti with the largest elephants as well as many wildlife. Therefore, after your delicious breakfast drive to the park offices to meet the ranger guide for briefing and set off for the field.

On this day you have a full day game drive, so you will move with packed lunch and have picnic lunch in the midst of savannah plains. Many animals are to be spotted like bush elephants, lions, leopards, zebras, hippos and many including beautiful bird species, reptiles and many more.

Day 3: Transfer to Ngorongoro crater

On this morning, you’re going to have a well prepared breakfast accompanied with a cup of coffee or tea depending on your choice and after check out of the lodge. Embark on the journey to Ngorongoro crater with a minimum drive of about two hours.

Proceed with the journey and check in at the booked lodge in Ngorongoro or Karatu for lunch. You could also have an optional game drive in the afternoon or just relax at the lodge.

Day 4: Crater rim experience

Rise early morning this day, have breakfast and set off for the amazing experience that will provide unforgettable memories. Walk through the forested areas and record as many beautiful bird species as possible; these include black kite, black winged lapwing, lesser flamingo and more.

Not only birds can be recorded during this experience but also beautiful fauna and flora, reptiles and amphibians. After such amazing adventure in Ngorongoro, retreat to the lodge for dinner and relax.

Day 5: Nature walk around the crater

While in Ngorongoro area, lots of unforgettable activities can be done. After the first meal you will meet your safari driver guide to drive you to the starting point and catch up with a site guide who will lead you for a nature walk. Expect to come across amazing creatures like beautiful fauna and flora, different bird species like European storks, swallows, flamingos, Bee eaters and many others. You have high chances of spotting some snakes and other reptile species if interested. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Depart to Serengeti National Park

Arise early morning on this day from your warm bed, have well prepared breakfast and check out of the lodge. Get entertained by vast numbers of wildlife as you approach Serengeti National park and continue to check in at the booked lodge. You can opt to have any activity in the afternoon or relax.

Day 7 – 8: Full day game drive in Serengeti

On day 7 and 8, you’ll be waking up as early as possible, at around 06:00am to spot some nocturnal animals while they are still active. These include nightjars, civets, bush babies, leopards and spotted hyenas.

You will be having picnic lunch from the wilderness and also engage in the evening game drive.

Day 9: Move to Lake Manyara national park

Lake Manyara National park is one of the smallest national parks located in Northern part of Tanzania. After your delicious breakfast meet your safari guide and begin half day transfer to Lake Manyara National Park. It will take about 6 hours’ drive to get to this protected area.

Have your picnic lunch en-route and continue to the park offices for a ranger guide to lead you into the fields once again for an enriching game drive to spot endless wildlife species. Drive back to the booked lodge to check in and stay for a night.

Day 10: Departure.

This day marks the end of your 10 days Best of Tanzania Safari, therefore after enjoying delicious breakfast accompanied with a cup of coffee or tea, the guide will meet you for the checkout and you will embark on the return journey to Arusha.

But before setting off, depending on your flight time you can first visit craft shops en-route. Buy some souvenirs to take home for remembrance.
