Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up & transfer to Samburu Reserve

Leave Nairobi for Samburu National Reserve, 6 hours’ drive. A delicious lunch will be served to you at the safari lodge/camp at the reserve. After lunch and relaxation, you will embark on an afternoon guided game drive and you will stand a chance to encounter wildlife such as lions, buffaloes, cheetahs, reticulated giraffes, dik-dik, grevy zebras, Beisa Oryx, Somali ostriches, and wild dogs.

Day 2: Game drive & transfer to Aberdare National Park

Have a delicious breakfast and after, you will enjoy a guided game drive before you exit for Aberdare National Park. More of Samburu Reserve wildlife and birds will be spotted, especially early morning risers then you continue to Aberdares. At Aberdare, you will settle for lunch at the safari lodge and later, go for an afternoon game drive.

Day 3: Game Viewing & drive to Lake Nakuru

Depart from the lodge, go enjoy an early morning game drive at Aberdares and proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru Park is most popular for its abundant bird species, including flamingoes.

You will embark on an afternoon game drive and this will allow you encounter a variety of wildlife in Lake Nakuru NP including the cape buffaloes, Rothschild giraffes, black & white rhinos, waterbucks, impalas, spotted hyenas, leopards, gazelles, leopards and birds.

Day 4: Full day in Lake Nakuru

A full day will be dedicated for you to explore and experience the most of Lake Nakuru National Park and its natural wonders. Catch up with early morning risers and common mammals to expect spotting include impalas, cape buffaloes, Rothschild giraffes, rhinos, lions, leopards, gazelles, zebras, spotted hyenas, and birds, especially the pink lesser flamingos.

Day 5: Wildlife safari to Masai Mara Reserve

You will be picked up at the game safari lodge in Nakuru NP and driven to Masai Mara National Reserve. This is the best wildlife destination in Kenya, most popular not only the big five but also the Great migration experience. You will get to the reserve early and later go for an afternoon game drive.

Day 6: Game viewing (full day tour in Masai Mara)

Leave your lodge/camp with a pack of lunch and drinking water since this will be a long day game drive. Today’s main highlights include a game drive where you will be searching for the big five game –elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, rhinos and most importantly, watch the wildebeest migration. This is perfectly experienced from July through August, and the must-visit spot will be the Mara River.

Day 7: Masai Mara, back to Nairobi

Have a delicious breakfast and after, set off to Nairobi National Park, about 5 hours’ drive from Masai Mara National Reserve. You may have an afternoon game drive or spend the rest of the day at the safari lodge.

Day 8: Game drive in Nairobi National Park

Begin half day game drive in Nairobi National Park, just at the backdrop of Nairobi capital city. This park holds 4 of the big 5 game with exception of only elephants, and in addition, you will also be spotting hyenas, cheetahs.

Day 9: Transfer to Tsavo National Parks

After breakfast, drive to Tsavo National Parks (Tsavo East & Tsavo West). These protected areas are divided by the Nairobi-Mombasa road & railway.

Day 10 – 11: Explore Tsavo N/Parks

You will have two days to explore both Tsavo East and Tsavo West. Expect to encounter a variety of animals inhabited in these extensive protected areas. These include leopards, lions, elephants, zebras, Kudus, waterbucks, rhinos, and birds.

Day 12 – 13: Safari in Amboseli National Park

Transfer from Tsavo National Park to Amboseli National Park, home to large herds of African elephants. Amboseli NP also offers the most breathtaking views of the snow-capped Kilimanjaro Volcano at the background. On game viewing, other wildlife to see besides elephants include leopards, lions, impalas, giraffes, zebras, birds and others.

Day 14: Game drive in Amboseli & transfer to Mombasa

Wake up early in the morning and have breakfast at the comfort of your lodge in Amboseli. After, embark on an optional morning game drive to see more wildlife and later proceed to Mombasa.

Day 15-16: Explore Mombasa & beaches

You will have two days to explore the coastal town (Mombasa) and beaches of Kenya, particularly, Lamu Archipelago. There are several resorts perfect for relaxation and easier access to the beaches. Expected experiences at the coast (Indian Ocean) will include snorkeling and diving. The beaches worth visiting include Bamburi and Nyali; these are part of the Mombasa Marine Park.

Day 17-18: Explore Lamu

Leave Malindi for Lamu archipelago lying in the far North Kenya. Lamu is comprised of 13km extensive beach at Shela. Lamu features an extensive waterfront lined with white-sailed dhows. At this historic town, you will have the best of local cuisines, taste the seafood and so much more.

Day 19-21: Experience the Southern beaches & departure

You will be visiting the finest beaches including Tiwi beach, the first tourist beach with several hotels perfect for families and budget visitors. To the far South, there is Diani Beach one of the beautiful coastal beaches with white sand. For adventure seekers, you will engage in snorkeling experience. After the beach holiday, you will be departing Kenya on 21st day marking the end of your magical 3-week Vacation in Kenya.
