Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu Reserve
Meet with your safari guide at the hotel in Nairobi where you will begin your road trip to Samburu National Reserve. This beautiful nature reserve is found in the Southeastern side of Samburu District, along the rift valley province of Kenya.
On the Southern side, Samburu is bordered by Ewaso Nyiro River and occupies the land area of 165 sq.km. Driving from Nairobi to Samburu Reserve takes about 6 hours and en-route, you will be viewing beautiful farmlands.
Day 2: Full day safari in Samburu National Reserve
Have breakfast and after, leave the lodge for full day game safari in Samburu National Reserve. You will be spotting diverse animal species, especially its special 5 species –the reticulated giraffes, grevy zebras, gerenuk, Somali ostriches, and Beisa Oryx.
Day 3: Samburu to Masai Mara (Great Migration safari)
Enjoy an early morning breakfast and after, you will transfer to Maasai Mara. It will be a long day drive, but includes lunch break en-route.
Day 4: Depart for a full day wildlife encounter in the Masai Mara
Depart the lodge for a full day wildlife expedition in the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Your long day game viewing tour includes a picnic lunch and you drive back to the lodge late in the afternoon.
Day 5: Second wildlife viewing day.
Today’s game drive allows you encounter several other wildlife species and birds.
Day 6: Depart from Masai Mara to Nairobi airport
Pick up at the lodge or camp after breakfast and transfer back to Nairobi city, 6 hours’ drive. Arrive in the afternoon and connect to the airport for departure or hotel in Nairobi for relaxation.
