Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from Kigali International Airport and transfer to your hotel.
Pick up by your tour guide at Kigali airport in Rwanda, go through briefing session about this great safari to Kenya and Rwanda. You will then transfer to the hotel for leisure and dinner.
Day 2: Kigali City Tour and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Visit the notable attractions in Kigali after breakfast such as the Kigali genocide memorial center, a place where thousands of innocent souls killed during the 1994 Rwanda genocide were buried, visit the local markets that display both fresh and organic fruits, clothing, art and craft pieces.
Visit some of the art and gallery centers and after lunch, enjoy the green environment with the different hills while heading to Volcanoes national park. Volcanoes national park is among the oldest national parks in Africa and it’s where gorilla habituation process started by Dian Fossey a female researcher and primatologist in early 1980s. Arrive and check in the lodge after a 3 to 4 hours’ drive.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking adventure and Visit Iby’iwacu cultural center
Be served with buffet breakfast/heavy breakfast and then a short drive to the park offices that is Kinigi post. Attend briefing together with fellow trekkers where different aspects will be will told such as the behaviors of the gorillas, the dos and don’ts follow, equipment needed while on the gorilla search, cross checking the gorilla trekking permits and more.
You will be assigned with the park ranger and begin the search while spotting other attractions such as birds, butterflies, and monkeys. Meeting a gorilla family allows you to spend an hour creating memories through taking photos and recording videos. The Silverback which is the head of the group and alpha male will be practicing his leadership skills and offering security.
Late on in the afternoon, Get and participate in music dance and drama, storytelling by the elders, take a community tour and many more.

Day 4: Drive to Lake Kivu
Delicious breakfast will be served in dehorning and then head to Iby’iwachu cultural center a home of Rwandese culture.
Later on, head to Lake Kivu the largest water body in Rwanda and located on the border of DR Congo. Have leisure at the resort hotel or take an option of taking a boat cruise.
Day 5: Lake Kivu to Kigali. Early flight to Nairobi and proceed to Masai Mara National reserve
Have an early breakfast on Lake Kivu and immediately transfer to Kigali airport to catch an onward flight to Nairobi. Be transferred to Masai Mara national reserve either on road or preferably by flight. This is a home to large numbers of animals including big five animals, big cats, birds and much more. Check in the lodge for a relaxing night in the jungle.
Day 6 & 7: Masai Mara game drives
Spend days 6 and 7 in Mara jungles taking part in different game drives. Spot vast numbers of wildlife and birds that call this reserve home. These include lions, elephants, buffalos, gazelles, bush bucks, waterbucks, rhinos, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes and more. Enjoy rewarding sundowners, bush breakfast and picnic lunch during these wildlife encounters.
Day 8: Transfer back to Nairobi and departure. End of safari.
Leave the park after breakfast and transfer to Nairobi. Fly home to mark the end of your 8 Days Rwanda Gorillas & Masai Mara safari.
