Detailed Itinerary

7-Day Kenya Wildebeest Migration Safari to Masai Mara & Amboseli Tour

Day 1: Pick up & drive to Lake Manyara National Park

Enjoy breakfast early in the morning and after, you will be met by one of our company representatives. He will brief you on this Uganda-Rwanda & Kenya-Tanzania Safari and then you will set off to Lake Manyara National Park. This park is most popular for tree climbing lions, and also its breathtaking rift valley escarpment featuring alkaline lake. It holds more than 400 species of birds, giraffes, elephants, and variety of antelope families.

After having lunch, you will have an afternoon game drive in Lake Manyara NP. This allows you see diversity of wildlife including buffaloes, buffaloes, tree climbing lions, warthogs, zebras, klipspringer, elephants, birds, and antelope families.

Day 2: Game drive & transfer to Ngorongoro

Wake up early, meet your driver guide and set off for an early morning game drive through Lake Manyara NP. Today, you will be viewing more wildlife adding on the list of those you encountered the previous day in the afternoon. The expected species to view during the morning game drive include impalas, giraffes, zebras, birds, elephants, bushbucks, and others.

Using a classic 4×4 rental vehicle, drive from Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro NP, about 4 to 5 hours. Ngorongoro N/Park is one of the best parks in the Northern circuit of Tanzania. While at Ngorongoro. Have lunch break, relaxation and set off for an afternoon Ngorongoro Plains game drive to see diversity of wildlife including elephants, buffaloes, gazelles, topis, birds, leopards, lions, and more.

Day 3: Depart from  Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti in 4×4 drive private car

Ngorongoro holds diversity of wildlife including African bush elephants, elands, buffaloes, elands, zebras, warthogs, hyenas, lions, jackals, and others. After lunch at the lodge, you will explore the iconic Ngorongoro Crater with its abundant wildlife. We shall drive to Serengeti National park later in the day

Day 4: Explore Serengeti plains –full day safari

Have breakfast early, after, transfer from the lodge to extensive savanna plains of Serengeti NP. You will be viewing diversity of wildlife and today, your target will be the big 5 game and wildebeest. Other possible sightings include gazelles, topis, cheetahs, birds and more. In the afternoon, enjoy lunch in the wilderness and continue to the Kopje circuit where you will come across lions and other species.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park to Maasai Mara

Leave Serengeti National Park for Masai Mara National Reserve, about 2 to 3 hours’ drive. This stunning reserve spans in Narok County, Southwestern Kenya and covers up to 1510 sq.km. It holds abundant animal species including leopards, cheetahs, wildebeest, gazelles, zebras, elands, and birds.

Day 6: Explore Masai Mara on wildebeest migration safari

A combined game drive and wildebeest migration safari will be enjoyed in Masai Mara starting early morning. The expected sightings of the day will include rhinos, buffaloes, leopards, lions, elephants, watching powerful wildebeest migration (consisting of elands, gazelles, wildebeests) and birds. A picnic lunch will be had while in the wilderness and after, you continue with an afternoon game drive and an optional visit to the Maasai community.

Day 7: Game drive & drive to Nairobi, fly to Kigali airport

Have a delicious breakfast, followed by exiting morning game drive through Maasai Mara Reserve. From Maasai Mara, transfer to Nairobi city and connect to the airport where you will be flying to Kigali airport in Rwanda.

Day 8: Hotel pick up & city tour, transfer to Volcanoes NP

After breakfast, meet our company representative for pick up and start exploring Kigali city. This includes visiting the Kigali memorial center, a burial center for over 250,000 victims of the 1994 Rwandan genocide. Other historical centers will be visited today and don’t forget to pass by Kimironko market for fresh fruits. After the city tour, you will be driven to Volcanoes NP in Ruhengeri, Northwestern Rwanda.

Day 9: Golden monkey tracking

Enjoy an early morning breakfast and after, assemble at the briefing center in Volcanoes NP. You will meet the park official to take you through the guidelines for golden monkey tracking and also allocate to you an experienced guide. Start your trek to see golden monkeys at 8:00 am and this will last for 2 to 4 hours which includes one hour of a close encounter. Return and have long day relaxation at the lodge.

Day 10: Gorilla trekking & Iby’Iwacu village tour

The actual trekking to explore about mountain gorillas starts at 8:00 am and this will go for 2-6 hours which includes one hour of close encounter, taking pictures then you walk back to the lodge. Relax at the lodge, get some refreshments and later, proceed to Iby’Iwacu village to explore more about Rwanda’s unique cultures and traditions.

Day 11: Kinigi to Bwindi

After breakfast, leave Ruhengeri region for Bwindi crossing via Katuna border to Kabale town. The 4-5 hours’ drive trip comes with breathtaking view of landscape of Rwanda and Uganda. Arrive early at Bwindi Park and chill at the comfort of your lodge.

11-Day Uganda Gorillas & Kenya Tanzania Wildlife Safari

Day 12: Gorilla trekking + Batwa cultural tour

Assemble at Bwindi N Park offices for briefing and to be allocated gorilla groups.

After, start walking back but with the lead of an experienced guide and have good time in the afternoon at the lodge. You will meet the guide later for a cultural visit/walk in the Batwa pygmies’ community.

Day 13: Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth NP – game drive in Ishasha sector

Leave Bwindi for Queen Elizabeth NP and connect via Ishasha where you will be viewing the tree climbing lions, and other animals. From Ishasha, connect to the lodge around Kyambura Gorge.

Day 14: Kyambura Gorge chimpanzee tracking

After breakfast, set off for the morning chimpanzee tracking experience in Kyambura Gorge. This is where over 40 chimpanzees have undergone habituation and you will be visiting its community today. Strictly one hour is guaranteed for up close with Kyambura Gorge chimps and you return to the lodge.

Day 15: Game drive & boat cruise

Leave the lodge early an experienced guide and using a comfortable private tourist vehicle, drive to Kasenyi Plains for game viewing. This particular sector of Queen Elizabeth NP allows you watch variety of wildlife and include lions, spotted hyenas, antelopes, buffaloes, elephants, and birds. Drive back to the lodge for relaxation and later in the afternoon, you will connect to Kazinga channel for a launch cruise.

Day 16: Departure

Have breakfast early morning and after, meet your driver guide, have your property packed in the car then drive to Kampala/Entebbe.
