This special 8 Days Uganda-Gorillas & Wildebeest Migration Safari. You will visit Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a thrilling gorilla trekking adventure and your trip will start from Kigali. Bwindi is a popular destination with over 120 mammal species and they include more than 459 endangered mountain gorillas.
After tracking mountain gorillas, you cross the borders and explore Maasai Mara National Reserve, enjoy up close with big five and wildebeest.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up at a hotel in Kigali & drive to Bwindi national park
Pick up at the hotel in Kigali city Rwanda and begin your border crossing trip to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Drive at leisure and enjoy the scenic countryside of Rwanda and that of Uganda once you cross through the Katuna/Chanika border points.
Katuna border will lead you to Kabale town and Chanika takes you up to Kisoro where you can continue up to Bwindi to check in at the lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking & Guided Batwa cultural tour
Get up early and have a delicious breakfast, carry some lunch with you and head off to Bwindi N. Park offices for briefing and registration. Get detailed information on the dos and don’ts to be followed on your gorilla trek. A habituated gorilla group will be allocated to you and at 8:00 am, begin trekking through the forest. As you walk, you may come across some other animals, birds and floral species.
When you meet the gorillas, you will enjoy one hour in their presence inclusive of taking pictures then you return to the lodge. A cultural/community walk will follow after relaxation and you will be interacting with the Batwa pygmies.
Day 3: Drive back to Kigali for a city tour
Depart from your gorilla safari lodge for Kigali crossing through Katuna or Chanika border, 4-5 hours’ drive. Arrive early, have lunch in Kigali and proceed with city tour which includes visiting the Kigali memorial center plus other historical sites.
Day 4: Fly to Nairobi & hotel transfer
Have breakfast back at the hotel in Kigali and after, drive to Kigali airport. From the airport, fly to Nairobi, meet our Kenya safari guide to transfer you to the hotel for relaxation.
Day 5: Nairobi city, drive to Masai Mara
After a leisure breakfast, start half day drive to Masai Mara Reserve. This is lying in the Southwestern Kenya and your drive will include viewing the breathtaking rift valley. Once you have arrived at the reserve, you will clear with authorities and proceed to the lodge/camp for relaxation.

Day 6: Wildebeest Migration & big game viewing
Begin your full-day wildlife safari in the Masai Mara National Reserve and you will depart with packed lunch. Today’s wildlife tour combines morning and afternoon game viewing, where you come across elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, leopards, lions, antelopes, zebras, elands, birds like ostriches, prey birds, secretary birds, etc. You will drive back late in the afternoon and have long evening relaxation at the camp/lodge.
Day 7: Game drive & Maasai Warrior tour
Your morning begins with a delicious breakfast and you will have another game safari in the plains of Maasai Mara Reserve. This offers you a great chance to see different wildlife and birds, some of which, you could have missed the previous day. After the game drive, the next activity will be the Maasai village tour. Meet, interact with the Maasai warriors, learn their unique lifestyles and traditions.
Day 8: Depart back home
Drive from Maasai Mara Reserve, Narok County to Nairobi city. Have a leisurely lunch at the finest restaurant and then continue to the airport for departure back home or remain at the hotel.
