Mara Plains Camp is located on 13,300 hectares of the Olare Motorogi private conservancy, along the forested banks of the Ntia Ketiak River, on the northern edge of the Masai Mara—one of the world’s top wildlife destinations.
Travelers can carry essential items by hand or buy them locally. The camp has only seven safari tents, each raised on decks. Some tents feature king-size beds set on polished wood floors, with thick Lamu wood doors. Each tent has two bathrooms and can host up to fourteen guests in total.
Amenities include:
- Well-polished copper bathtubs
- Complimentary WiFi
- Swarovski HD binoculars
- Lens kit and Canon camera body
- Minibar
- Private veranda
Children over six years old are welcome, and family suites are fully prepared for guests.
Mara Plains Camp is a flexible safari spot offering complete privacy and excellent food and drinks, including fine wines and cocktails. The camp is decorated with rich leather, copper, and brass furniture, which not only adds style but also helps the local community by providing jobs for many Masai people.
The camp is part of Great Plains Conservation, an organization known for planting over 2,000 trees to restore the ecosystem and bring back native trees to the reserve.
The organization also supports local children by investing in education, helping secure a brighter future. Your visit to the camp makes a meaningful contribution to the community.
The Mara Plains team also supports women-owned businesses by selling their handmade goods in the camp’s bush boutique.
There are many activities you can enjoy while at the camp, including:
- Stargazing: Usually done early in the morning at sunrise and in the evening at sunset. This often goes hand in hand with bush walks led by professional guides who are friendly and dedicated to bringing visitors to the best spots for adventure.
- Bird-watching: Guests can relax on the deck outside their tent and enjoy the sharp calls of local birds. You can also follow trails to see the best nesting spots as birds fly across the skies.
Sing Hosanna from Mara Plains Camp and enjoy the true comfort it offers!
